Connector backshells are essential components designed to enhance the performance and reliability. They provide strain relief, cable management, and protection against environmental factors, ensuring consistent operation in demanding conditions. These backshells are available in various configurations to support different cable types and often include options for EMI/RFI shielding to prevent signal interference. Widely used in aerospace, military, and industrial applications, they are built to meet stringent industry standards, offering durability and compatibility for high-performance systems.
D-Sub hoods (backshells) are available in configurations ranging from 9 to 50 positions. Options include black, colored, metalized, and solid metal variants. The hoods are offered in 180°, 90°, and 45° designs, with thread choices of UNC4-40, M3, or M2.5, as well as sliding lock options.
Metalized hoods provide attenuation of at least 40 dB at 100 MHz, while zinc die-cast hoods offer attenuation greater than 40 dB across a frequency range of 30 MHz to 1 GHz.
