MIL-DTL-26500 Connectors

Miniature Cylindrical Connectors for Aerospace, Military & Industrial Systems

Elimec USA supplies MIL-DTL-26500 connectors, designed to meet the needs of high-reliability applications across commercial, aerospace, and military platforms. Available in both bayonet and threaded coupling styles, these connectors offer a rugged, compact solution with excellent sealing and mechanical integrity—ideal for environments requiring dependable electrical performance under harsh conditions.

Fully intermateable with MIL-DTL-83723 Series III counterparts (except shell size 8, threaded), MIL-DTL-26500 connectors provide a convenient and reliable solution for systems using both bayonet and threaded couplings.

  • Versatile Coupling Options
    Available in both bayonet (quick-connect) and threaded (secure-lock) configurations to suit a wide range of applications and      environmental requirements.
  • Flexible Mounting Styles
    Offered in wall mount receptacles, jam nut receptacles with      integrated O-ring seals (rear “D” hole panel mounting), and straight      plugs for streamlined system integration.
  • Reliable Contact Options
    Qualified to 21 insert arrangements per MIL-STD-1554, supporting 3 to 57 contacts in sizes 20, 16, and 12. Compatible with wire gauges from 24 AWG to 12 AWG.
  • Effective Environmental Sealing
    Multi-layer sealing system includes:
    • Compression-sealed front insulators to prevent moisture ingress
    • Triple wire sealing at the rear of each contact cavity
    • Dynamic O-ring seal between plug and receptacle for added protection
  • Insert & Shell Polarization
    • Insert clocking positions (1–5) help avoid mismating of identical       layouts (except shell size 8)
    • Alternate key/keyway designs prevent cross-mating of adjacent connectors
  • Durable Construction
    Only aluminum shells with anodic coating (Class R) or stainless steel      shells (Class E*) available—ensuring resistance to wear, corrosion, and extreme environments.
  • Superior Contact Stability
    Front-release crimp contacts use a beryllium-copper retaining clip fully encased in a rugged dielectric insert—protecting against vibration and insertion damage.
  • Closed-Entry Socket Contacts
    Provide secure mating and alignment, even under blind or repetitive insertion conditions.

    • Both classes withstand 48-hour salt spray exposure

    • Meets MIL-DTL-26500 altitude immersion test (wired, mated, with accessories)
  • Fluid Resistance
        Withstands immersion in:
    • MIL-PRF-5606 (hydraulic fluid)
    • MIL-PRF-23699 / MIL-PRF-7808 (lubricating oils)
    • MIL-DTL-5624 (JP-5 jet fuel)
    • Glycol-based solutions
  • Durability
    • Bayonet Coupling: 500 mating cycles
    • Threaded Coupling: 200 mating cycles
  • Shell-to-Shell Conductivity
    • Class R: Non-conductive
    • Class E: ≤ 200 millivolts max potential drop

Shock & Vibration Performance

  • Shock
    • 100 G, half-sine wave, 6 ms duration in all three axes
  • Vibration
    • Per EIA-364, Method 28
    • Tested at both –55°C and +200°C
